About Us

At AnduraX, we’re building India’s first private re-entry vehicle designed to fly to space, carry experiments and payloads, and return them safely to Earth. We’re here to make space not just a destination, but a dependable, repeatable extension of Earth for industries that need it most. We believe the future of space isn’t just about going farther, it’s also about coming back safer. By building a platform that can fly frequently, recover gently, and serve a wide range of commercial and defence needs, we’re opening doors to a space-powered industrial future. As part of our growing team, you will gain direct experience working with systems that power real engines and flight platforms.

Role Overview

As an Embedded & Flight Software Intern with a focus on GNC (Guidance, Navigation & Control), you will work on flight-critical software that powers AnduraX’s reentry vehicle and drop-test platforms. This role spans embedded firmware, real-time flight control algorithms, data acquisition systems, and hardware–software integration. You will get hands-on exposure to avionics hardware, onboard computing, sensor fusion, and flight control stack development. This is a highly technical, experiment-driven role involving bench testing, HIL setups, and field-level flight campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test embedded firmware for flight computers, sensor modules, and actuator control units.

  • Implement low-latency drivers for IMUs, GNSS, barometers, thermocouples, solenoid valves, and telemetry radios.

  • Work with real-time OS environments (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or bare-metal).

  • Set up communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS-485.

  • Support development of flight control loops for stabilization, attitude estimation, and trajectory following.

  • Implement and test basic GNC modules such as filters, state estimators, PID controllers, or feed-forward control logic.

  • Work with simulation environments (MATLAB/Simulink / Python / PX4 SITL).

  • Assist in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing for drop-test missions and reentry simulations.

  • Debug embedded boards, sensor interfaces, and flight software stacks.

  • Support onboard data logging, telemetry streaming, and system fault handling.

  • Participate in engine test campaigns, full system integration tests, and drop-test flight days.

Requirements

  • B.Tech in ECE, Aerospace, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Robotics, or related fields.

  • Good understanding of embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, and real-time programming.

  • Basic knowledge of control systems (PID, feedback loops, stability).

  • Familiarity with IMUs, GNSS, barometers, and sensor fusion concepts.

  • Experience with Python or MATLAB for simulation and analysis.

  • Strong fundamentals in electronics, signal processing, or embedded systems.

  • Willingness to work hands-on with hardware, test rigs, and outdoor field testing environments

  • Familiarity with dynamics, kinematics, and flight mechanics

  • Basic knowledge of sensor fusion (Kalman filters preferred)

  • Ability to interpret flight data and compare against simulations

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with iterative test-driven development

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with 6DOF simulation or guidance algorithm development

  • Exposure to embedded systems or flight controllers (Pixhawk, STM32, etc.)

  • Familiarity with ROS, PX4, or onboard logging systems

  • Experience with C/C++ for real-time implementations

  • Understanding of actuator modeling and control surface dynamics

  • Knowledge of EKF-based attitude estimation or basic inertial navigation.

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, unit testing, and embedded debugging tools (JTAG/ST-Link).

  • Exposure to HIL setups or flight simulation environments.

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on experience with real flight hardware for reentry and drop-test missions

  • Deep understanding of embedded avionics, flight controls, and GNC for reusable spacecraft

  • Hands-on experience with HIL rigs, sensor fusion systems, and actuator control

  • Opportunity to participate in mission planning and post-flight analysis

  • Certificate + Letter of Recommendation

  • Potential full-time offer based on performance
