About Us
At AnduraX, we’re building India’s first private re-entry vehicle designed to fly to space, carry experiments and payloads, and return them safely to Earth. We’re here to make space not just a destination, but a dependable, repeatable extension of Earth for industries that need it most. We believe the future of space isn’t just about going farther, it’s also about coming back safer. By building a platform that can fly frequently, recover gently, and serve a wide range of commercial and defence needs, we’re opening doors to a space-powered industrial future. As part of our growing team, you will gain direct experience working with systems that power real engines and flight platforms.
Role Overview
As an Embedded & Flight Software Intern with a focus on GNC (Guidance, Navigation & Control), you will work on flight-critical software that powers AnduraX’s reentry vehicle and drop-test platforms. This role spans embedded firmware, real-time flight control algorithms, data acquisition systems, and hardware–software integration. You will get hands-on exposure to avionics hardware, onboard computing, sensor fusion, and flight control stack development. This is a highly technical, experiment-driven role involving bench testing, HIL setups, and field-level flight campaigns.
Responsibilities
Develop and test embedded firmware for flight computers, sensor modules, and actuator control units.
Implement low-latency drivers for IMUs, GNSS, barometers, thermocouples, solenoid valves, and telemetry radios.
Work with real-time OS environments (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or bare-metal).
Set up communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS-485.
Support development of flight control loops for stabilization, attitude estimation, and trajectory following.
Implement and test basic GNC modules such as filters, state estimators, PID controllers, or feed-forward control logic.
Work with simulation environments (MATLAB/Simulink / Python / PX4 SITL).
Assist in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing for drop-test missions and reentry simulations.
Debug embedded boards, sensor interfaces, and flight software stacks.
Support onboard data logging, telemetry streaming, and system fault handling.
Participate in engine test campaigns, full system integration tests, and drop-test flight days.
Requirements
B.Tech in ECE, Aerospace, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Robotics, or related fields.
Good understanding of embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, and real-time programming.
Basic knowledge of control systems (PID, feedback loops, stability).
Familiarity with IMUs, GNSS, barometers, and sensor fusion concepts.
Experience with Python or MATLAB for simulation and analysis.
Strong fundamentals in electronics, signal processing, or embedded systems.
Willingness to work hands-on with hardware, test rigs, and outdoor field testing environments
Familiarity with dynamics, kinematics, and flight mechanics
Basic knowledge of sensor fusion (Kalman filters preferred)
Ability to interpret flight data and compare against simulations
